Filtering Your Facebook News Feed For Any Game

With all the games available on Facebook today it can some times be hard keeping in touch with good friends and family members. After all with a new lost animal found every second FarmVille posts can sometimes make up your entire news feed.

To combat this Facebook added some nice features to help you filter your news feed. From your main Facebook page (click on Facebook in the upper left corner after logging in to be sure you are there) you should see a list of things on the left under your profile picture. One of these will be "Friends" clicking on this will cause some items to appear under it.

Clicking on any of these items will filter your feed according to who has been added. So say you create a list called "Real Life Friends" there will be a listing there for it, clicking it will filter your news feed so that only people in that list appear. Likewise if you have put all your FarmVille friends into a list you can click on it so you only see feed items from FarmVille.

This of course requires a little bit of work on your part, putting everyone into separate lists according to their connection with you. The payback though is being able to see exactly what you want, when you want.

There is another item under Friends, "Status Updates". Clicking on this will show you only hand written (or txt'd in) status updates. If you have not separated your friends out this can be a quick way to see only non-application updates.
